Each year, The Turn recognizes its Player of the Year, given to an individual who has not only shown a commitment to improving their own health and wellness, but has also given back to the organization on through their time, advocacy and, with this year’s recipient, humor.
Jerry Clapp, or Mr. Twister as some may know him, joined The Turn in 2012 after suffering a stroke. He will be the first person to let you know how much the program has impacted not only his life but the lives of the countless friends he has made over the years.
“Jerry is the perfect fit for this award,” said Program Director Trevor Hazen. “He has achieved many successes in his time with The Turn, in addition to being an inspiration to our staff, volunteers and his fellow program participants. Jerry lives our mission everyday and serves as a wonderful example of all the benefits The Turn can provide.
